At Thinkgeek: TARDIS 4-port USB Hub

Look what I found! I really need a decent 4-port USB hub as my netbook comes with only 2 ports, and those get maxed out fast. My current 4-port hub is a freebie from work and is great in a pinch, but I keep getting “this device could be faster” errors – it’s not a modern article. This device needs to be fast when it’s a G4 modem or an external drive.

I seek audience with the ThinkGeek Consciousness under peaceful contract, according to Convention Fifteen of the Shadow Proclamation. This is the vehicle of the Time Lord. TARDIS, or Time And Relative Dimension In Space has its chameleon circuit broken, so it’s stuck looking like an old British Police box from Earth year zero-point-five-slash-apple-slash-five-zero, or 1950 by local reckoning. That, and it’s become a 4 port USB hub a mere 11 centimeters tall. This little blue box, really an immense multi-dimensional starship capable of ludicrous speeds, sits benignly on your desk, acting as a mere conduit of digital information for your computer. 480 megabits per second of data are shared amongst its four USB 2.0 ports along the base. Press the panel on the face, and the blue-glowing light pulsates and the Tardis’ engine fires up. Don’t worry, while the engine grinds away, we’ve time-locked the Tardis so it stays put – we don’t want any accidental paradoxes, thank you. It’s not every day you can have your own piece of the Untempered Schism right there on your desktop, so be careful how you use it. The Bad Wolf is watching. Features The official Doctor Who TARDIS Hub. A 4 port USB hub replicating the 1950s Police phonebox TARDIS from the show. A flashing lantern on the TARDIS’ roof. A time-travelling sound effect. The light and sound effects are triggered when a USB device is plugged into the port. Sound effects are optional and are controlled via an on/off switch. No software required. Suitable for both PCs and Mac. Suitable for ages 8 years+. TARDIS: 11 x 6 x 6cm USB Cable: 140cm.</p>

A few other wishlist items from Thinkgeek below the jump. An aside to my minions: This is how I can be bribed.

Hydrokinetic Adjustable WrenchHydrokinetic Adjustable Wrench

Doctor Who has his sonic screwdriver – a small tool that can adjust to any situation. It uses advancements in technology to provide an infinitely adaptable tool. While the Hydrokinetic Adjustable Wrench won’t let you start up your TARDIS, it will let you fiddle with twenty three different sizes of bolts and nuts. And the secret resides in wrench’s liquid core. Take a look at the little computer graphic cut-away, and you’ll know what we mean. To adjust the Hydrokinetic Adjustable Wrench, just open the valve, fit around the nut or bolt of your choice, and push the gripper on the opposite end. It will compress the liquid which will, in turn, push the gripper on the end you want. Once it is snug against the nut, close the valve and your Hydrokinetic Adjustable Wrench is locked into position. It’s that easy! The slim heads of the wrench will let you sneak it into tight spaces, and the design of the grip will help you turn even damaged nuts and bolts. Once you get your Hydrokinetic Adjustable Wrench in your hands, you will instantly know its power – that it looks like something from Doctor Who or Star Trek doesn’t hurt either!

Hex Wrench PendantHex Wrench Pendant

It’s good to be prepared, but it’s also good to be stylish. And just like “adornatus” in Latin, which means both “equipped” and “embellished,” this sleek honeycomb pendant works for both. The holes are sized to a standard bit, plus sized to fit 8, 10, 12, and 14mm nuts. So that’s M8, M10, M12, and M14. But it’s designed elegantly enough that people who don’t know your secret totally won’t suspect that this would be as at home in your toolbox as around your neck. Pendant itself is 2.75″ high by 1.25″ across by 1/8″ thick. Comes with adjustable cord that extends from 16″ to 28″ depending on your preference. It’s made from solid stainless steel, so it isn’t going anywhere. We recommend you remove the pendant before using it as a tool. Yeah. We know. But there are still warning signs for guys in ties on shredders. So we’re just gonna put that out there.

Workstation Repair Tool KitWorkstation Repair Tool Kit

A great toolkit for the modern geek including nice sets of screwdrivers, pliers and various size wrenches. These tools will allow you to perform all of the basic repairs on computers and workstations. Also, handy for modding activities and last minute gaming upgrades. The toolkit has these components.
